In recent years the capital of Portugal has experienced a tourist boom because the increase of the offers of lodgings, the low cost air connections and also the fact that it’s a city with much to see and to do. In addition, the international tourism community has been rewarding and distinguishing Lisbon as one of the best travel destinations in the world. Lisbon appeals to the youngest, to the most experienced tourists and to all those who like places with charisma and where they feel safe.

In this short itinerary we have created a list of what you can see / visit for three days in Lisbon. If you are willing to spend 4 days or more, use one of the days to visit Sintra, a city near Lisbon full of castles, history and romanticism.

To start your visit to Lisbon, explore the city center, visiting the illustrious men of Portugal nation who rest in National Pantheon, visit the ruins of the St. George Castle, the Lusitanian version of the Sé Cathedral and stroll through the famous elevators and viewpoints of the Capital. When walking in this area of the city you will feel at the center of the big city, with its characteristic neighborhoods, its hills, the river view and all the buzz of life around these monuments.

On the second day, leave the historic center and explore the most modern part of the city. Explore the Parque das Nações, an area that came alive during Expo 98 and after the end of the exhibition become one modern part of the city. If you travel by public transport you will arrive at the magnificent Oriente estacion which has an odd architecture inviting you to enter to the Vasco da Gama Shopping Center. Crossing this shopping center you will enter the old Expo park where you can visit the Oceanarium, the Pavilion of Knowledge, Vasco da Gama Tower, Casino, several buildings created at the time of the exhibitin and now reconverted. All this near the fantastic view of the Tejo river.

During the third day you can enjoy the area with a view over the Tejo river. This is the Jerónimos Monastery area. Take the opportunity to visit the museums, the monuments and taste the famous Pasteis de Belém.
